Becky’s Gift project begins 16th year

For 16 years, Scripps Ranch residents Becky Walton and Christie Jackson have been spreading joy to families battling cancer through the Becky’s Gift Toy Drive. This year marks their biggest season yet, thanks to generous donations from across San Diego. The drive’s mission is simple: provide toys to children of parents and grandparents undergoing cancer treatments, bringing a sense of normalcy and hope during the holiday season.

“Because of your kind donations, I was able to bring Christmas home to my children without worrying,” one patient said.

The focus is on helping families feel the warmth and hope of the holidays, no matter the struggles they may be facing. The support from the Scripps Ranch community has always been the anchor of this program.

This year brings the ambitious goal of collecting 1,500 toys, kicking off the season with the first toy drop scheduled the week of Thanksgiving. The plan is to deliver toys to seven local cancer centers.
