New school year begins Aug. 11

It will be hot. It will be early August. Believe it or not, Scripps Ranch public schools – and all schools in the San Diego Unified School District – will begin the 2025-26 school year on Monday, Aug. 11.

Parents may learn class school starting and ending times plus specific details about their schools in Scripps Ranch by viewing the school’s website or checking school Facebook pages or parent-guardian social media pages for their student’s school.

As students begin the new school year on Aug. 11, they won’t have a district-wide holiday break to look forward to until Labor Day on Sept. 1. San Diego Unified School District does not have another scheduled district-wide break for the rest of September.

Scripps Ranch High

Front office summer hours: July 21-25, open from 8 a.m. to noon. Beginning July 28, normal hours resume, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kick Off is a set of days in which students may obtain student IDs, books, etc. Wednesday, July 30, is set aside for ninth and 10th grade students. Thursday, July 31, is set aside for 11th and 12th grade students.

Parents are invited to attend kick-off as well. Presentations to parents will occur on both kick-off days.

Marshall Middle School

Orientation for Marshall Middle School sixth grade students, all new students and their parents will be held Friday, Aug. 8. The Marshall Mustang Organization (MMO) will also host a Parent Meet & Greet on Friday, Aug. 8, at 8:30 a.m., the same day as the new student/parent orientation. There will be a MMO table with refreshments.

Back to School Night for the sixth grade will be held Aug. 26.

Back to School Night for the seventh and eighth grades will be held Thursday, Aug. 28.
