Night market draws impressive turnout

An exceptionally good turnout marked the Scripps Ranch Night Market, a special fundraising event held on Wednesday evening, July 26, in support of the Alabaster Jar Project, a North County-based nonprofit organization that helps female victims of human trafficking receive help and build new lives.

Guests mingled and shopped inside and outside of Pastel Bakery, 12205 Scripps Poway Parkway, Suite 104. Billed as a “girls’ night out,” the event drew an impressive crowd of women: momtrepreneurs, career women, mothers and community volunteers.

It was a shopper’s paradise with products and information from LuLaRoe, Bar Method Carmel Mountain, Stella & Dot, LipSense and Keep, with makeup application by Trish McEvoy. While shopping, guests enjoyed delicious snacks, beverages and desserts provided by Pastel Bakery.

Celebrity guests included Monica Dean, the Emmy Award-winning news anchor from San Diego NBC 7 News; Susan Johnson, the CEO of the Alabaster Project; and Kit Chaimongkol, Miss U.S. Continents 2017.

Attendees took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy makeovers, browse among the assortment of booths, socialize, talk a little business, make some purchases and enjoy snacks and beverages. Proceeds from the evening’s sales went to the Alabaster Jar Project.

The fundraiser was planned primarily by Pastel Bakery owner Joann Leo, a longtime Scripps Ranch resident, and Gina Mel from Stella & Dot. It was sponsored by Jocelyn Lomahan of Barron Real Estate Group.

Danielle Hemmingson and Courtney McCurdy from Bar Method Carmel Mountain informed guests about their fitness program.
Gina Mel and Erica Amos from Stella &
Dot had jewelry and many other items available for purchase.
Attendess learned more about the efforts of Alabaster Jar Project.
