Scripps Ranch Holiday Concert
The annual Scripps Ranch Holiday Concert is set for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, in Jerabek Neighborhood Park, 10200 Scripps Trail. The concert, produced by the Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park organization, will feature a band playing holiday songs, light sticks, candy canes and Santa Claus will arrive on a fire truck with lights blinking and siren blaring.

The Scripps Ranch Tree Lighting ceremony, produced by local Girl Scouts, will precede the Holiday Concert with activities from 3 to 5 p.m. in Jerabek Park.


‘North Pole at the Club’
The Scripps Ranch Swim & Racquet Club presents “North Pole at the Club,” a holiday celebration for club members. It will be held on Friday, December 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 9875 Aviary Drive. Club members can meet and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will be games for the kids, a Gingerbread Jumpee, art projects, a Christmas movie at dusk and a hot chocolate station with sweet treats. Rumor has it that there will be real snow at this event.


Frankie & The Invisibles will play at Sanctuary Lounge on Friday, Dec. 8.

Frankie & The Invisibles will perform live beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Sanctuary Lounge on Friday, Dec. 8. DJ Gavin will follow on the turntables until 1:30 a.m.

Sanctuary Lounge will be closed from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 for a private party, but will reopen at 9 pm. when DJ Smooth turns it loose until closing time.

‘Mixed Nuts and Holiday Revue’
Lynch Dance Institute, a dance studio with roots in Scripps Ranch and many students from this community, presents “Mixed Nuts and Holiday Revue,” a holiday production showcasing the students of Lynch Dance Institute. Members of the Creative Performing Media Arts Choir will also perform. The performances will be held Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.; and Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. in the Joan B. ‘The Nutcracker’
Scripps Performing Arts Academy presents “The Nutcracker,” in conjunction with the Scripps Ballet Theatre. Performances will be held at the David and Dorothea Garfield Theatre, 4126 Executive Drive, on Dec. 9 and 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets:

Library holds a holiday concert
The “Pleasure of Your Company” music series will feature Courtly Noyse on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2:30 pm. in the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library. Garbed in period costumes, this lively ensemble will play a variety of period instruments and may also cast their instruments aside and burst into six-part vocal harmony. Experience their trademark blend of humor, imagination and versatility as you enjoy a delightful afternoon of Renaissance holiday music. There is no charge for the concert, which is sponsored by Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library, although donations are appreciated. Meet the musicians and mingle with fellow music lovers at a complimentary post-concert reception.

‘The Season of Love’
This is the last weekend to see “The Season of Love,” a world premiere play presented by Scripps Ranch Theatre. This unique play, created by veteran San Diego playwright James Caputo, includes four separate mini-stories.

“The Season of Love” is scheduled to run through Dec. 10 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Legler Benbough Theatre on the campus of Alliant International University, 9783 Avenue of Nations. Performance times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Visit scrippsranchtheatre.org.


Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market
The Scripps Ranch Farmers Market offers a wide variety of vendors each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 10380 Spring Canyon Road, in the Innovations Academy parking lot.

Browse among the booths with a selection of food, services, produce and merchandise. Grab something to eat, sit down and enjoy live music in the food court. Very family-friendly. Visit srfm.org.
