SUPER BOWL EVENTS:
Potluck at Savagewood
Whether you are a Patriots fan or an Eagles fan, everyone agrees that the best part about Super Bowl Sunday is the food, friends, beer and the commercials. Come tailgate at Savagewood Brewing: Bring a dish, share with others in your community and have some beer. There will be $3 pint specials and giveaways at halftime and at the end of the game.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m., so come by to stake your seat and set up your food/snack dish any time before then. There will be power strips for anyone who brings a crock pot or other warming vessel.

Little Italy Bar & Grill invites football fans to enjoy happy hour in Scripps Ranch for Super Bowl LII. Super Bowl at Ballast Point
While it was recently revealed that Ballast Point Scripps Ranch will be moving to the Ballast Point headquarters facility in Miramar by the end of this summer, that doesn’t mean the Scripps Ranch facility won’t celebrate Super Bowl LII on Sunday. No matter the score, football, friends and Fathom IPA are always winners. The kegs are all lined up just in time for the big game. Even Patriots and Eagles fans can agree on football, pizza and beer. Ballast Point Scripps Ranch is located at 10051 Old Grove Road.

Yanni’s will be closed Sunday
Yanni’s Bar & Grill, 12015 Scripps Highland Drive, will be closed on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 4. It will reopen Monday for regular hours.

SR Theatre presents ‘Outside Mullingar’
“Outside Mullingar” is a play involving four characters in the Irish countryside. Scripps Ranch Theatre has rolled out this production full of wit and humor, and is presenting it on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 18.

“It involves two families: A father and son who live on a farm, and a mother and daughter who live on an adjacent farm,” explained director Kathy Brombacher. “These are people who have grown up and live in the countryside. They have an ongoing feud between the families over land. The father and son live on a farm where the access to get into the farm is blocked by gates because there’s a strip of land that belongs to the adjacent farm.”

Part of the story is about the land feud, but the biggest part of the story is the romantic attraction between one family’s daughter and the other family’s son.

“Outside Mullingar” runs on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Feb. 18 in the Legler Benbough Theatre on the Alliant International University campus, 9783 Avenue of Nations. Visit scrippsranchtheatre.org.

Fresh Filhart Beef will be barbecuing from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 at Sanctuary Lounge. DJ Barry Thomas along with guest musicians will provide the music from 7 p.m. until closing time.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, Labs & Friends will bring dogs that are looking to be adopted to Unleashed in Scripps Ranch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Operation Greyhound will bring adoptable canines to Unleashed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4.
