Reported homicide at Affinity Court

San Diego police were on the scene investigating what is being reported as a homicide at Affinity Court in Scripps Ranch at about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

Early reports indicate one man was shot and killed at a condo in the 11200 block of Affinity Court. Preliminary news reports stated that the shooting involved members of a family. The suspect, possibly a teenage male, had not been apprehended as of Sunday evening. Police continue the search and investigation.

Residents living in condos along a street branching north where Affinity Court starts and Scripps Vista Way ends were either leaving their homes or sheltering in place while residents arriving were not allowed to enter the area because the street was taped off and police patrolled the neighborhood.

At least one police helicopter roamed the skies nearby for nearly a half hour in search of a suspect. Most of the search appears to have been carried out along Erma Road, Scripps Vista Way, Scripps Ranch Boulevard, I-15 and the very eastern end of Mira Mesa Boulevard.
