On to West regionals; Fundraiser set July 17

The Scripps Ranch Little League Intermediate team won the Southern California State Tournament in the Intermediate Division on Sunday, July 15. This is the first team to advance to the Western Regional Tournament from Scripps Ranch Little League in its 43-year history.

The local players have been playing some amazing baseball and are currently 10-0 heading into the regional tournament. The team will be leaving Wednesday, July 18 at 6 a.m. to head to Nogales, Arizona, to represent Scripps Ranch, San Diego and all of Southern California as they compete against teams from western states such as Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Nevada and Arizona.

Scripps Ranch Little League will host a fundraising event on Tuesday, July 17 to raise funds to offset some of the costs for families of the players during their stay in Arizona, and to show support for the boys before their once in a lifetime trip.

The Meet & Greet/Fundraiser will be held at Pazzo’s, 10299 Scripps Trail, on Tuesday, July 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Residents can meet the 2018 Intermediate Southern California State Champions from Scripps Ranch Little League. All the players and coaches will be on-hand, so the community can show its support for these players.

With all the excitement and travel comes additional expenses that these families could use some support with. Pazzo’s has offered to host this fundraiser for the team by offering 20 percent back to the team for their trip. Mention “SRLL” when you order to make sure the staff knows you are there to support the boys.
