A heat wave is beginning
Today marks the beginning of an extreme warming trend that will last through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
A warming trend has begun today, May 4, with the hottest days expected Wednesday and Thursday. The lower deserts could see highs near 110, and the inland valleys will be well into the 90s.
Temperatures in the 80s could come very close to the beaches, rare for May. Some cooling will occur Friday and next weekend, but temperatures will remain somewhat above normal.
