Heat Warning extended through Friday
The National Weather Service has extended its Excessive Heat Warning for San Diego County valleys effective until Friday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above average will be seen through Friday.
On Thursday afternoon, a Tweet on the National Weather Service San Diego account read: “Looking forward to the heat subsiding? Well, we’ve got good and bad news. The bad news? Heat will stick around for inland areas tomorrow. The coast will cool slightly. The good news? We will at least cool off a little bit this weekend, but still be well above normal.”
The National Weather Service originally issued an Excessive Heat Warning for San Diego County valleys Wednesday, Sept. 30, effective until Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. A Heat Advisory was set to replace the Excessive Heat Warning at 8 p.m. Thursday, ending at 8 p.m. Friday – but more extreme heat has been forecast through most of Friday.
There will be a gradual cooling trend through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
