Flag football team advances in playoffs
The Scripps Ranch High School varsity flag football team has made a somewhat surprising and gallant impression by advancing to the 2024 CIF-SDS Girls Flag Football Championship Division 3 semifinals after defeating Chula Vista Learning Community Charter 20-12 in a quarterfinal contest on Nov. 16. Learning Community Charter was the number 1 seeded team in the Division 3 bracket. Scripps Ranch is the eighth-seed and now has a 13-11 overall record this season.
Scripps Ranch will play at fourth-seeded Escondido Charter in a semifinal game on Tuesday, Nov. 19 with a 6 p.m. start.
