New concert season has been announced

The Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park summer concert series is set for the 2025 season. Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park is a non-profit organization that produces these free, live performances for the community, in collaboration with a local sponsor for each event.
The concerts take place in Hoyt Park on the second Sunday of every month from June to September.
“We love to put on concerts because music is our life. We are so excited each year to have a different line up, and to see all of our friends and neighbors coming out,” board member Steve Fiorina said.
Here is the 2025 schedule:
• The band Full Strength will perform on June 8, sponsored by San Diego Castles.
“They will be performing dance, funk and hip-hop music,” Fiorina said. “They were actually supposed to be our last performance last season. However, we had to cancel their performance due to the weather, which was the first time we have ever had to do that.”
• High Tide Society will be performing on July 13. This concert will be sponsored by US Bank.
“They will be playing yacht rock from the ’70s and ’80s,” Fiorina said.
• On Aug. 10, The Heroes will be performing, sponsored by Collins Family Jewelers.
“The Heroes are a perennial favorite. They will be playing music from the ’60s up until now. Every time you see them they have new songs. They are constantly upgrading their set list,” Fiorina said.
• The last summer concert of the season will take place on Sept. 14, sponsored by The Glen of Scripps Ranch. The band Paging the ’90s will perform.
“They will be playing ’90s music, which is a few decades old now, but there will still be newer music for the younger crowd,” Fiorina said.
Prior to the performance on Sept. 14, scholarships and contributions to the local schools will be announced.
“The (Scripps Ranch) Old Pros and Women’s Athletic Club will be awarding scholarships for academics and athletics to students within the community,” Fiorina said. “(Symphony in the Park) will be contributing money toward the local elementary, middle and high school music programs as well.”
The organization is able to aid music programs through donations it receives.
“People donate all year – neighbors and businesses,” he said.
In addition to music, there will be face painting for children that is free of charge at each event, hosted by the Barron Real Estate Group.
“Emma Lefkowitz, who is a part of the Real Estate group, will be face painting at each concert,” Fiorina said.
Members of the audience are encouraged to bring their own food and seating arrangements.
“We will not have any vendors at the concerts. Members of the audience are allowed to bring their own food and beverages including alcoholic ones. We ask that people bring out cloth blankets, as that does not harm the grass, and low-back chairs so that people in the back can see as well,” Fiorina said.
In previous years, 800 to 1,900 people have attended individual concerts, according to Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends and neighbors smiling, grooving and enjoying their evening,” Fiorina said. “We have such an incredible community, and this is an event that showcases that.”
The concerts generally begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.
Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park usually produces a live holiday concert in early December as well, but the date and times have not yet been scheduled for this year.
