Working together for a fire-safe 2026

Since the devastating wildfires of 2003 and 2007, Scripps Ranch has come a long way in strengthening its defenses against wildfire. With the support of CAL FIRE, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, and – most importantly – the commitment of local residents, our community has been fortunate to become better informed, better prepared and better protected.
Recent wildfire devastation in Los Angeles is a sobering reminder that the danger hasn’t gone away. Wildfire risk continues throughout California, and preparedness remains essential – not just during peak fire season, but year-round.
That’s where the Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council comes in.
As we look ahead to 2026, the Fire Safe Council is inviting community members to help shape the next chapter of wildfire preparedness in Scripps Ranch. Your ideas, involvement and support can make a meaningful difference.
There are many ways to get involved, including:
Volunteering to serve on the Fire Safe Council board
Helping share fire safety information with neighbors
Learning more about the resources and guidance available to help protect your home and family
The Fire Safe Council meets once a month to discuss wildfire preparedness, community awareness and practical steps we can take to protect one another.
Looking back at 2025
In 2025, the Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council remained active and engaged by:
Hosting multiple open houses at Scripps Ranch Fire Station 37
Supporting local organizations through financial contributions
Responding to questions and concerns from many Scripps Ranch residents
These efforts reflect a small but dedicated group working quietly – and effectively – behind the scenes to keep our community safer.
As proud as we are of the work accomplished in 2025, there’s a strong desire to build on that momentum with new ideas, fresh energy and more engaging projects in 2026.
We can’t do this without you.
