As summer approaches, the Scripps Ranch Women’s Club (SRWC) launches its annual Membership Drive, held from May 1 through July 31. During this time, current members renew their memberships, while new members are warmly invited to discover the friendship, activities and strong sense of community that make our club so special.
Looking ahead to the coming year, the SRWC Nominating Committee has presented a proposed slate of officers for the 2026-2027 year. These dedicated women will officially assume their leadership roles on Aug. 1. We are fortunate to have talented and committed members who generously serve as board members and activity coordinators, helping organize and enhance the many social, cultural and recreational activities enjoyed throughout the year.
May was highlighted by the club’s annual Mother’s Day Luncheon, held this year at La Gran Terraza on the beautiful University of San Diego campus. Members also enjoyed a performance of “ReGenerate” by the Malashock Dance Company, an engaging three-part modern dance concert. Rounding out the month was a lovely waterfront walk, offering time to relax, connect and enjoy the beauty of San Diego Bay.
In May, the SRWC board approved the recipients of the 2026 Scholarship Awards. These outstanding students will be recognized both at the Scripps Ranch High School Awards Ceremony in late May and at a special SRWC luncheon in June, where the mothers of the scholarship recipients will also be honored. In addition, grant recipients representing local schools and nonprofit organizations have been selected through the club’s Community Giving program, with award announcements to be made in June.

Beyond our happy hours, luncheons, pre-theatre gatherings, high teas, wine tastings, and special social and cultural events, the Women’s Club offers an impressive variety of ongoing activity groups that bring members together in friendship, fun and shared interests. Among the most popular is our weekly Mahjong program, where tables are filled with lively conversation, strategy and camaraderie. Members also enjoy four Bunco groups, three Bridge groups, Canasta, and Scrabble. Adding even more laughter to
the mix is our aptly named “Fun and Games” group, where members gather each month to enjoy a rotating selection of games, offering humor and friendly competition.
For those who enjoy staying active, the club provides weekly pickleball games on Fridays along with an Adventure Walking group that explores scenic local destinations. For book lovers, there are two engaging Book Discussion Groups, with a third currently forming in response to growing interest. Creative members are also enjoying our newest addition – a Knitting and Crocheting group that offers a welcoming space to learn, stitch and create together.
In June, we are looking forward to our annual end-of-season Cocktail Party, held this year at the lovely home of Carol and Tony Battaglia.
