Football team suffers only loss of season
The Scripps Ranch High School varsity football team was undefeated with an impressive 9-0 record entering its last game of the 2024 regular season against Mt. Miguel High School located in Spring Valley, but the Falcons suffered a surprising 36-37 heartbreaking loss on Nov. 1.
Both teams traded multiple quick scores in the final minutes. Scripps Ranch decided to go for the win versus a tie by attempting the 2-point conversion near the end of the game. The attempt failed and the visiting team was able to run out the remaining seconds of the game.
Mt. Miguel was no pushover, now with a respectable 8-2 record.
Scripps Ranch has a 9-1 record and is 4-0 in league play, so the team will enter CIF-SDS post season competition. The playoff seedings will be released this weekend.
