Basketball team enters CIF-SD playoff tourney
The third-seeded Scripps Ranch High School womens varsity basketball team will host 10th-seeded Olympian High in the first round of the CIF-SDS Girls Basketball Championships Division 1 on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. Scripps Ranch has an 18-7 overall record this season.
The team closed out its regular season with a 37-39 loss against Morse High on Feb. 13. Scripps Ranch High led 22-10 at halftime, but fell short at the final buzzer. Scripps Ranch had already clinched the City Western Conference the previous night by beating Cathedral Catholic High 45-43, so a few players were rested in the game against Morse.
