Club helps worthy organizations and celebrates the holidays
Supporting Stand Up for Kids this season
The Scripps Ranch Kiwanis Club supported Stand Up for Kids this holiday season. Our club came together at our Nov. 18 meeting to stuff 50 holiday stockings for the Stand Up for Kids organization. Using proceeds from our fundraisers throughout the past year, we were able to purchase socks, snacks, toiletries and gift cards to fill the stockings. Stand Up for Kids is a national organization supporting homeless and at risk youth in local communities from coast to coast.
Holiday help for Your Safe Place
On Dec. 12, some of our club members helped Your Safe Place wrap gifts for their upcoming holiday party. Your Safe Place benefits children and their families who have or are experiencing domestic violence.
Speaker for December
The chief impact officer for Just In Time was the speaker at our Dec. 2 meeting. Just In Time is an organization our club supports that helps young adults aged 18-25 once they have aged out of the foster care system. He updated us on things they are doing to help these young adults. We were able to help their organization with a check after his presentation.
Christmas party
Finally, on Dec. 12, we ended the year by having a great time at our annual Holiday Party.
We celebrated our hard work over the past year with our potluck style party and gift exchange. It was hosted by one of our club member’s at her lovely home.
Scripps Ranch Kiwanis wishes all our friends and community members a happy and healthy New Year!
The Kiwanis Club of Scripps Ranch is a volunteer organization supporting kids in our community.
We meet at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Whispering Ridge Clubhouse located at 12465 Oakfort Court.
