In late June, the Women’s Club proudly honored our three 2025 Scholarship recipients and their mothers at a special luncheon held at Yanni’s. Each year, we are delighted to support graduating senior girls who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and a strong commitment to community service. Congratulations to CJ Ippolito, Karina Megan Ford, and Karen Nahrstedt. We wish you all the best as you begin your college journeys!
We also kicked off the summer season with a delightful celebration, graciously hosted by Diana and Gary Whitney at their beautiful home and garden. Thank you, Diana and Gary, for creating such a warm and festive atmosphere. Special thanks to our dedicated Social Committee – Patti Beaver, Connie Gallagher and Margaret Hardy – for their thoughtful planning and coordination. It was a fantastic way to start the summer!
In July, we gathered for our Annual Meeting, highlighted by a fun photo presentation reflecting on the past year. We laughed, reminisced, and celebrated the friendships and memories captured in each image. Thank you to Madeline Pantalone for creating such a memorable slideshow.
At the meeting, we welcomed the incoming 2025-2026 board members. Outgoing President Renie Martin graciously passed the gavel to our new President, Carol Merten. She will be joined by Vice President Chris Kniahynycky, Secretary Cindy McGowan and Treasurer Liz Robert. In addition to the executive team, 10 dedicated committee chairs will be responsible for various functions, and 15 activity coordinators will help lead us through an exciting year ahead.
We are grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm of all our members who take on these leadership roles. Their commitment keeps our club vibrant and growing. A special thanks to our outgoing board members and activity coordinators for their service, and a warm welcome to the new leaders stepping in to support our club!
Finally, we offer our heartfelt thanks to Renie Martin, who served as president for the past two years. With dedication, thoughtfulness and genuine care, Renie guided our club through a time of remarkable growth. We are deeply grateful for her legacy of strong support, warmth, and leadership.
At the Annual Meeting, President Carol Merten shared her vision for the year ahead, highlighting an exciting lineup of activities and programs designed to engage, connect and energize our members. We look forward to supporting Carol and another wonderful year together in the Women’s Club!
Looking ahead to August, we are excited for our upcoming Sunset Picnic at Cuvier Park in La Jolla. With breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, this is the perfect setting for our members to relax and soak up a beautiful summer evening with family and friends. We are packing up our picnic gear and lounge chairs for what promises to be a memorable night!
