Falcons close with playoff loss

The Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS) varsity football team closed its season with a 6-35 CIF-San Diego Division 1 first round playoff defeat by El Camino High School on Nov. 4.

Following an outstanding 2021 season with a San Diego Section title along with a CIF State championship for the first time in school history, the Falcons battled many injuries throughout the 2022 campaign as the team finished with a 2-9 record.

In the CIF first round playoff the Falcons scored their only touchdown in the fourth quarter of the contest as quarterback Alex Ariaudo connected to Dean Paley for a 14 yard TD. The PAT failed.

“Our preseason first and second string quarterbacks both tore their collarbones. We expected to have a much improving showing, but when situations happen things change,” said SRHS head coach Marlon Gardinera.
