Falcons finish strong at Eagle Rumble
Scripps Ranch High School wrestlers participating in the Eagle Rumble at Olympian High School on Nov. 27 did very well in the Boys JV and Girls Novice divisions.
The female wrestlers were in 16 person brackets, whereas the male wrestlers were in 32 person brackets.
It’s worth noting that the brackets were modified in a way that prevents most wrestlers from wrestling back for a higher placement, which is a shame because every single person showed that they had the toughness to wrestle back, Falcons coach John Kreitzer said.
Here are some of the highlights for the Scripps Ranch grapplers:
• Malia Kollmeyer had an excellent showing, earning a gold medal. She only spent three minutes and forty-one seconds total in all her matches.
• Kyle Tisdall had a gritty come from behind win to take home a bronze medal.
• Brock Bishop came out with a seventh place finish.
• Ryubeen Yim and Keegan Wenker both placed eighth.
