Flag football team is Div. 3 runner-up
The Scripps Ranch High School flag football team had a challenging regular season but thrived in post-season play, making it all the way to the CIF-SDS 2024 Girls Flag Football Championship Division 3 Final game where it lost 13-25 to second seeded Mater Dei Catholic High in a hard fought contest on Nov. 23. The Scripps Ranch teammates played their hearts out but came up short in this tough loss held at Palomar College.
Scripps Ranch battled through the Division 3 playoff bracket to earn its spot in the Final championship game by defeating Santana High 31-7 on Nov. 13, beating first seeded Chula Vista Learning Community Charter High 20-12 on Nov. 16, and winning against Escondido Charter High 20-16 on Nov. 19.
This is only the second year for the flag football varsity sport and the team made an impressive run during the CIF-SDS playoffs, especially considering the team’s unfortunate record in 2023. All in all, Scripps Ranch had an incredible season to remember, representing their school and community with pride, honor and impressive football skills.
