JEWELS OF THE SEASON
The Timken Museum of Art once again ushers in the holiday season with one of San Diego’s most enchanting traditions, Jewels of the Season. On view through Dec. 31, this year’s installation transforms the museum into a winter wonderland, featuring a glittering forest of exquisitely adorned trees in the foyer, a grand 12-foot Christmas tree in the Central Gallery, whimsical topiaries and a model train on loan from the San Diego Model Railroad Museum that evoke the charm and joy of the season.

‘Nutcracker Reimagined’
Celebrate the season with a performance that will leave you inspired! Lynch Dance Institute, owned by Scripps Ranch residents, celebrates its seventh year with a bold reimagining of a holiday classic. “Nutcracker Reimagined” is a full-length production that brings a fresh, inclusive and forward-thinking perspective to the stage. Gaslamp Pet Parade
The Gaslamp Pet Parade & Pups in the Pub Party returns to the historic Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Register your pet for just $30 and let them strut their stuff in San Diego’s most festive holiday pet parade; or enjoy the fun for free from a Gaslamp patio and soak in the holiday cheer. Mission Bay Parade of Lights
This festive boat parade on beautiful Mission Bay takes place annually each December. Mission Bay Yacht Club has organized and hosted the holiday boat parade of lights for decades, now a beloved event that delights viewers of all ages with creativity and effort that goes into decorating a brilliant floating light display. Kick off this holiday tradition with SeaWorld’s spectacular fireworks and enjoy the festive holiday boats parade on the bay from designated spectator viewing areas along the parade route. Christmas in the Park
The City of Poway presents Christmas in the Park at Old Poway Park – an old-fashioned holiday tradition that will take you back in time! San Diego Bay Parade of Lights
Continuing its long-standing San Diego tradition, the 55th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights promises to dazzle and entertain bayfront crowds during two evenings on Dec. 14 and 21. The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights brings more than 100,000 San Diego residents and visitors to the shores of San Diego Bay each year. The procession of approximately 80 lavishly decorated boats has become one of the most iconic events in the region. The procession will start at 5:30 p.m. and will follow the predetermined parade route.

Winter Celebration at SR Farmer’s Market
The Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market & Family Festival will hold a special Winter Celebration featuring a visit from Santa Claus on Thursday, Dec. 18. Santa Claus is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Entire event is 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Entrance is free. 10045 Carroll Canyon Road.
