Home Tour features Scripps Ranch remodeled kitchen
The San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers presents the ASID Kitchen and Bath Tour 2025 on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The self-guided tour will feature eight beautifully designed homes in San Diego with newly remodeled kitchens and baths. The tour will showcase an array of styles, tastes, lifestyles, and personal preferences and demonstrate the effectiveness of professional interior design in meeting specific objectives.
One of the featured homes is a designer’s own kitchen in Scripps Ranch with structural changes resulting in a more functional work-zone layout and a seamless custom look that features panel-ready Monogram appliances, a plaster custom hood, Perlato Taj quartzite counters, and Walker Zanger hand-painted tiles.
“This is a rare opportunity to see some of the finest newly designed interiors in San Diego,” said Becky Zoni-McMakin, chair of the event. “It’s the perfect way to acquire inspiration for your own design projects and have one-on-one conversations with leading designers.”
Projects feature the latest trends in flooring, surfaces, appliances, cabinetry, color, lighting, sustainability, furniture, technology and universal design.
The homes on tour – which range from sleek modern to mid-century to traditional – reflect their owners’ personalities, budgets and lifestyles. The eight tour sites are located in the San Diego communities of Clairemont, Clairemont Mesa, Kensington, Mira Mesa, San Carlos, Scripps Ranch and Tierrasanta.
Other Highlights include:
• A San Carlos kitchen that highlights the clients’ artistic endeavors and aesthetically blends with the adjoining outdoor spaces.
• Two remodeled kitchens in Kensington homes that are each nearly 100 years old.
• A Clairemont renovation that thoughtfully integrates sleek, modern design elements while preserving the home’s original architectural character, creating a harmonious balance between old and new.
The ASID Kitchen and Bath Tour illustrates the dynamic collaboration among interior designers, clients, contractors and craftspeople. Participating designers include Marcia Bryan, Sheryl Wohl Chaffee, Valerie Dalrymple, Nicole Gesli, Laura Landegent, Kim Moffat and Heather Vitti.
“The tour shows how designers can take gloomy, inefficient, outdated spaces and transform them into open, inviting, functional spaces that transition seamlessly to adjoining rooms and the outdoors,” said Beverly Feldman, president of ASID San Diego. “One of my clients likened working with a designer to ‘partnering with a Genie who can create designs you can’t imagine and discover products you can’t access, resulting in a beautiful, functional home that reflects your lifestyle.’”
The tour’s corporate benefactors include principal sponsor Pacific Sales, Porcelanosa, Snyder Diamond, and Pro-Source.
Advance tickets are $40 per person, and group discounts are available. Ticket information is available at the ASID San Diego website: casd.asid.org. Day-of-event tickets are $50. Tour guests need to check in at Porcelanosa, 8996 Miramar Road, Suite 100, on May 3, beginning at 8:45 a.m., where they will be given a wristband for entry to each home, a tour map, and a description of each project. Attendees will be automatically entered into an opportunity drawing for three outdoor-themed baskets with gift cards and merchandise valued at $2,000 each. Winners will be notified via email after the event.
