Philanthropic Chicks celebrate 12 years
Founded in 2014, Super Fun Philanthropic Chicks of Scripps Ranch has grown into a welcoming community in which women connect, build friendships, and support local nonprofits and grassroots organizations making an impact throughout San Diego.
“Our mission is simple,” founder Pam Pond said. “We believe giving back should be as enjoyable as it is impactful. This group brings together women who want to support their community in a way that feels approachable, supportive and fun.”
The group connects members with local organizations in need of support through storytelling, awareness, volunteering and financial contributions. At each gathering, a featured nonprofit or community group shares its mission and current needs, and attendees are invited to donate any amount they choose. Many members go on to volunteer, share professional skills or connect organizations with additional resources – extending the impact well beyond a single event.
Membership is free, with no annual dues. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to attend, bring a friend and get involved at their own pace.
Super Fun Philanthropic Chicks has raised more than $90,000 and helped support more than 40 local organizations. Through community gatherings, volunteering, fundraising and social connection, the group empowers women to create lasting change together.
Super Fun Philanthropic Chicks includes more than 100 active members who gather three times a year on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., with meetings typically lasting one hour. The 2026 meeting months are March 4, May 6 and Sept. 23.
Gatherings are held at the Venture X coworking space, which donates its space for the meetings. The location is 10089 Willow Creek Road, Suite 200, in Scripps Ranch. The location offers easy access and plenty of free parking.
