Poway Symphony Orchestra presents ‘Echoes of Romance’

The Poway Symphony Orchestra presents “Echoes of Romance” on March 23, at 4 p.m. in the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. This concert will feature works by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Mozart, promising an unforgettable afternoon of beautiful symphonic music.

The program will open with the lively Polonaise from Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a spirited and elegant piece full of Russian grandeur. It will be followed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 39, a light and uplifting work that conveys the composer’s genius in every note.

The highlight of the afternoon will be Sergei Rachmaninoff’s breathtaking Piano Concerto No. 3 – the “Rach 3” – a virtuosic tour de force renowned for its emotional depth and technical challenges.

Acclaimed pianist Frederick Moyer will join the orchestra as the featured soloist, bringing his artistry and extraordinary skill to one of the most celebrated (and difficult) piano concertos in classical music.

Always an audience favorite, Moyer will make his third appearance with the Poway Symphony Orchestra.

He will bring his  “Moyer Cam,” a video device he created that allows the audience to view his hands and keyboard from virtually any seat.
