Softball team going to Nationals

The Scripps Ranch Softball Association 14u All Star team continued earning honors. After working toward a spot in the championship game at the District tournament on June 18-19 in San Marcos, the team advanced to the State tournament in Lancaster on the 4th of July weekend. The team won the first four games 9-3 (vs, Jurupa), 8-5 (vs. Upland), 11-8 (vs. Corona) and 9-1 (vs Ventura). On State tournament Sunday, the 14u All Stars fought hard in the semi-finals but ended up short of the championship game with losses to Peninsula (5-8) and Huntington Beach (2-7). Despite those losses, the team earned third place overall (out of 24 teams), took home its fifth tournament ring of the All Star season and qualified for the National tournament at the end of July in Ventura.
