SRHS wrestlers compete at Masters

Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS) brought seven male wrestlers and four female wrestlers to compete at the CIF-SDS Masters at Christian High School on Feb. 22.

Scripps Ranch High’s Ryan Stadtherr placed fourth at 215 pounds and is going to the State Championship held in Bakersfield Feb. 27-March 1.

The two other Scripps Ranch High wrestlers who placed at Masters are Hope Long, fourth place at 100 pounds; and Jack Hamilton, fifth place at 150 pounds. Hamilton will be an alternate at State.

Other Scripps Ranch High wrestlers who competed at Masters were Kai Duckworth (120), Elisha Hosseini (126), Matthew Tung (138), David Henderson (165), Isaiah Castillo (175), Malia Kollmeyer (105), Chloe Ng (110) and Khyla Adams (125).

It was recently announced that the following Falcons men wrestlers were named All League: Elisha Hosseini, Jack Hamilton, Hendrix Lynn and David Henderson. SRHS All League women wrestlers are Hope Long, Chloe Ng and Malia Kollmeyer.

Stadtherr was named the League’s MVP. He was not named to All League since he hadn’t wrestled three matches at any one weight class. But he was recognized as being the most dominant wrestler at any weight class, and the fact that he bounced back and forth between weight classes for the good of the team solidified his MVP selection.
