SRHS wrestlers shine at CIF Championships
The Scripps Ranch High School mens varsity wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the CIF San Diego Division 2 Wrestling Championships on Feb. 15. Out of the 12 wrestlers who represented the team, 10 placed in their respective weight classes, and seven advanced to the Masters Championships. The team finished in fourth place overall in the CIF San Diego championships.
Senior Jack Hamilton led the charge, dominating the 150 pound weight bracket with four wins to secure first place. He was the CIF San Diego Division 2 Champion.
Seniors Kai Duckworth (120 pounds) and Ryan Stadtherr (215 pounds) also impressed, earning a second place spot on the podium.

Juniors Elisha Hosseini (126 pounds) and David Henderson (157 pounds) each took fourth place. Junior Matthew Tung (138 pounds) and senior Isaiah Castillo (175 pounds) each secured fifth place, while Junior Micah Kollmeyer (132 pounds), and seniors Grant Hancock (144 pounds), and Dafu Wang (heavyweight), rounded out the team’s wins with eighth place finishes.
Hamilton is a four-time Masters qualifier, earning top spots at CIF Championships consecutively throughout his years at Scripps Ranch High School – a remarkable achievement in the program’s history.
“This season has been a landmark for our program, marked by a series of remarkable individual and team achievements. The outstanding results at the CIF Championships not only highlight the team’s exceptional performance but also cements this year as one of the most successful in the program’s history,” said Scripps Ranch High School wrestling coach Justin Viramontes.
The road to the State Championships in Bakersfield is now clear, and the Scripps Ranch High School wrestling team is ready to make its mark. Joining the mens team will be seniors Hope Long (100 pounds) and Chloe Ng (110 pounds), freshman Malia Kollmeyer (105 pounds) and Khyla Adams (125 pounds). Long, Ng, Kollmeyer and Adams secured their spots to compete at Masters after podium finishes in the recent womens CIF wrestling championships.
