Strong showing at State for two wrestlers

Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS) junior Kayla Lincoln (145 pounds) and freshman Ava Fodera (103 pounds) competed in the 2023 CIF State Wrestling Championships and wrestled in Sessions I and II of the State tournament being held at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield from Feb. 23 to 25.

These two female wrestlers qualified for the State tournament, each placing third at the San Diego Section Masters Tournament last weekend. They were the only wrestlers out of the entire SRHS wrestling program to qualify outright for the State Championship tournament. While they both displayed incredible skill and fearlessness, they were unable to advance to the final rounds at State competition – ending their incredible season.
