We’re back at the Farmer’s Market
By Sue Lloyd
After a short winter break, the Kiwanis Club will once again be setting up our booth one Thursday a month at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market. We proudly promote literacy by giving a free book of their choosing to children and adults who stop by our tent. We love meeting people in the Scripps Ranch community, and also supporting the vendors that set up there each Thursday. Stop by and say hello.
Student of the Month: At our Feb. 3 meeting, the club was proud to honor fifth grader Leila A. as Student of the Month from Miramar Ranch Elementary School. During the presentation, we learn why the teachers have chosen this student, as well as learning about their favorite subjects, hobbies, goals, families and even their pets. The student receives a certificate from the club as well as a gift card to Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza.
Membership information: The club is excited to have added two new members at the end of 2025! If one of your New Year’s resolutions included getting involved in your community or helping children in San Diego County or right here in Scripps Ranch, please join us at one of our meetings to find out more about what we do. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Contact craigbratlien@gmail.com for meeting location and information.
