Girl Scout Cookie Program officially begins on Jan. 25
On Sunday, Jan. 25, Girl Scouts San Diego (GSSD) will kick off the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program in San Diego and Imperial counties. Through March 8, more than 8,500 local Girl Scouts will rally their communities, neighbors, and friends to support the world’s largest girl-led entrepreneurial program.
Girl Scouts are now accepting direct shipped-only orders via Digital Cookie®, and begin accepting in-person orders to personally deliver cookies to local customers on Jan. 25. Cookie booths outside of local retailers will begin on Friday, Feb. 6.
There is a new cookie entering the lineup in 2026 – Explore-mores™! Alongside this rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie are eight other varieties of beloved cookies—Trefoils®, Thin Mints®, Peanut Butter Patties®, Caramel deLites®, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Caramel Chocolate Chip (gluten-free certified), Lemonades®, and Adventurefuls®. Eight varieties will be available for $6 per package. The Caramel Chocolate Chip is a specialty cookie that will be sold for $7 per package.
One hundred percent of Girl Scout Cookie Program net proceeds stay local.
Through the cookie program, girls learn five essential life and business skills – goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics – while growing in confidence and leadership. They also earn individual rewards and troop funding for travel, community service projects, and badge workshops.
Community members can also support Girl Scouts during the program by donating their cookie purchase to Operation Thin Mint™ , a service project that originated in San Diego and has benefitted military troops and veterans for more than two decades. Since 2002, Girl Scouts and their generous cookie customers have sent more than 4.3 million packages of Girl Scout Cookies and handwritten notes of support to thousands of military personnel.
