Wolff plays Mainstream Bar and Grill
Local rock ‘n’ roll trio Wolff will be playing a pre Valentine’s Day dance party/event at the Mainstream Bar and Grill in Poway, at the corner of Community and Poway Road, on Friday, Feb. 9.  If you’re looking for a romantic evening with a loved one, this probably isn’t it!

The band will perform in the giant back lounge, which has a stage, lights and PA system. With plenty of tables, chairs and a large dance floor it’s a perfect venue for live music and dancing.  There is also a pool table back there.  Even better, there’s no cover and parking is free.

Wolff will play its most danceable songs from 8 p.m. to midnight, including a bunch of new ones from artists as diverse as Steve Miller, The Police, The Fixx and Little Eva.

Mainstream serves dinner until 9:30 p.m., and appetizers until the band stops playing. There is a full bar with plenty of microbrews on tap, wines and spirits, and a separate restaurant/bar area.

SR Theatre presents ‘Outside Mullingar’
“Outside Mullingar” is a play involving four characters in the Irish countryside. Scripps Ranch Theatre is presenting this production on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 18.

“It involves two families: A father and son who live on a farm, and a mother and daughter who live on an adjacent farm,” explained director Kathy Brombacher.

Part of the story is about a land feud, but the biggest part of the story is the romantic attraction between one family’s daughter and the other family’s son.

“Outside Mullingar” runs on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Feb. 18 in the Legler Benbough Theatre on the Alliant International University campus, 9783 Avenue of Nations. Visit scrippsranchtheatre.org.

Following the lion dancing through the store, and the fire crackers, the group will present the Collins family with a banner for the new year. Youngsters can also feed the lions. Red envelopes will be available for attendees who want to make monetary donations to the troupe. They can place a few dollars in the envelopes and place them in the mouth of a lion.
