Amazing singer performs tonight

Tonight, Scripps Ranch residents will be treated to a special performance by an amazing young singer whose roots are from Scripps Ranch. Mackenzie Wrap will be showcasing her amazing vocal range for the audience at the Scripps Ranch Marketplace from 5 to 7 p.m.

This 13-year-old youngster lived in Scripps Ranch until a year ago when she and her family decided to follow her dream to pursue a future in music. She was accepted to the Orange County School for the Arts where she currently attends school. Her family moved to Irvine so she could study at this specialized school.

Wrap loves to sing the blues and her favorite artists include Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Janis Joplin.

This evening, Wrap plans to perform some blues, a few contemporary pop songs and a couple of musical theater songs.

“I actually like a lot more of the smaller venues because I feel like it’s more intimate and I feel it’s a great way to connect with a lot of people around you,” she said.

The Scripps Ranch Marketplace is located at Scripps Poway Parkway and Spring Canyon Road. The performance will be held in the gazebo area between Starbucks and Luna Grill. Visit scrippsranchmarketplace.com.
