Cookie season is in full swing

They are hard to miss: Scouts in uniform proudly selling Girl Scout Cookies throughout neighborhoods in Scripps Ranch and in front of both local Vons supermarkets. The cookie sales are the annual major fundraiser of Girls Scouts. The 2018 cookie selling season began Jan. 28 and will run through March 11.

On Friday, Feb. 9, Katya and Millie (above), accompanied by their moms, staffed a table in front of Vons in the Scripps Ranch Marketplace and enthusiastically invited shoppers to buy cookies. The two sales girls are from troop 3102, a local Scripps Ranch troop consisting of students from Miramar Ranch Elementary School. Local troops take turns selling cookies in front of the markets, giving everyone a chance to gain credit for their efforts.
