Garden Club

The Scripps-Mesa Garden Club will continue to meet monthly even though the growing season is almost over. The club’s fourth Tuesday evening programs will go on at the Scripps Ranch Community Center at 6 p.m. September’s program focused on birds and their role in successful gardening. Dave Fortner shared a collection of photos and experiences with feathered friends in his backyard and with the Audubon Society. His daughter Cindy also shared her collection of photos that demonstrated the large number of bird varieties that San Diego benefits from. Birds and flowers are strongly dependent on one another and mutually beneficial to our gardens. The Garden Club’s October meeting with Sal Castillito will focus on the Master Gardener program.
