Garden Club: kokedama, pumpkin delights
Our local Scripps-Mesa Garden Club celebrated the end of the 2019 growing season with a plant craft known as kokedama. Using their own plants and some materials supplied by the club, members created hanging ornaments for their patios.
At the same November meeting, the group also shared pumpkin appetizers, soups, breads and desserts to honor the Thanksgiving holiday. It was the last meeting of the club for this calendar year.
Scripps-Mesa Garden Club will resume its regular meeting schedule on Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library. The new year promises a variety of programs and speakers, according to out-going leader Bob Gale. Members of the community who enjoy gardening are invited to join the club.
