Library closures and parking update
The Scripps Miramar Ranch Branch Library is one of the 20 libraries now closed on Mondays, as of mid-September, due to City budget issues. In addition to every Monday, the library will also be closed for the Christmas–New Year’s holiday from Wednesday, December 24 through Thursday, Jan. 1, and will reopen on Jan. 2.
The planned closure of the library for replacement of the roof and HVAC system has been pushed back yet again and is now expected to occur in February 2026. The closure is now projected to last at least 6 to 8 months. Work on the lower parking lot, which has been suspended for more than 1½ years, will reportedly resume concurrently. The parking situation will continue to be challenging until the parking lot expansion has been completed.
