Organic Pest Control

Organic Pest Control

By Denise Stewart

After a stroll through a local garden bursting with magnificent epiphyllum blooms this month, Scripps-Mesa Gardeners will be returning to the Library Community Room in July for a talk on organic pest control. Master Gardener Dawn Standke will share her many years of experience with natural methods of ridding edible gardens of destructive pests.

In May, the plant lovers toured her garden to see the extensive variety of organically grown fruits and vegetables that flourish in her yard.

Those who are interested in learning more about how to be successful raising plants and maintaining healthy gardens in our community are invited to check the garden club’s website: scrippsmesagardenclub.com.

Meetings for the members are on the fourth Tuesday of the month, except December. The meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. Talks about gardening are held at the library while field trips to gardens and plant nurseries take place in nearby venues.
