Purses, sunglasses, trinkets and more…

The J|D Events booth at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market carries a wide assortment of accessories for women. It exemplifies the spirit of the Farmer’s Market: A local entrepreneur sets up a booth where shoppers can browse through numerous items and purchase something they need or something that makes them happy.

J|D Events is an event and wedding planning company, and owner Jacqueline Duenas said they have an abundance of items used for gift bags, wedding favors and accessories. These are the things that are on display at her booth. They can be used on a daily basis or given as gifts for upcoming holidays or as favors at events.

“We carry a lot of accessories for weddings and events. We came here for the locals to let them see what we have,” said Duenas, a Scripps Ranch resident who lives not far from the market.

Duenas has been in business for 20 years. She said she learned about the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s years ago and opened a booth as a regular vendor until she opened her store, which is in Clairemont. Now, she has returned to the Farmer’s Market and brought her merchandise for the local shoppers.

There is “anything a woman needs; all accessories,” Duenas said.

These include purses, sunglasses, jewelry and trinkets of all kinds. Most are straight from the manufacturer, so the prices are reasonable. Prices range from $5 to $25.

“We also have the leggings that are really soft,” Duenas said. “They are kind of like the ones from LuLaRoe, but softer. We have them for kids and adults.”

The leggings are available in many colors and designs, and cost $15 each.

The sunglasses are also in a variety of designs and are comparable to any one would find in a mall. The sunglasses are priced at $10.

Perhaps the purses are the most enticing items, and the quality is decent.

“I’ve seen a bunch of my former clients from seven years ago and they said that their purses are still working, and they were happy to see me.” Duenas said.

Find the J|D Events booth at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market, which is open for shoppers from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday at 10380 Spring Canyon Road, in the Innovations Academy parking lot. Visit srfm.org.
