Summer Safari world-themed entertainment includes dancing and cultural acts from around the world: African acrobats, lion dance and martial arts demonstrations, Korean drummers and Latin and Asian dancers.
Summer Safari is in full swing
High-energy entertainment and plenty of fun await visitors to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Summer Safari presented by your San Diego County Toyota Dealers. Now through Aug. 13, Safari Park guests will be treated to entertainment every day, with performances by African acrobats; lion dance and martial arts demonstrations; amazing Korean drummers; energetic Latin and Asian dance performances; and the not-to-be-missed World Celebration Show at 5 and 6:45 p.m., featuring entertainment from around the globe.
New at this year’s Summer Safari, the Festival of World Flavors experience will take Safari Park guests on an adventure in international cuisine. Purchase a “tasting card” and take your taste buds on a delicious tour, as you sample treats from around the world — including pork bulgogi sliders, chicken shawarma pita, carne asada tacos, Mexican corn, meat pies and more.
- The Festival of World Flavors tasting card is priced at $25 per person (plus tax) for five tastes; $45 per person (plus tax) for 10 tastes.
- Taste choices include food or a sample-size draft craft beer, Cheetah Rita, Charging Rhino or Serengeti Sunset, at participating locations throughout the Safari Park. Guests must be 21 or older to obtain tastes containing alcohol.
In addition to world-themed festivities, Safari Park visitors can experience up-close encounters with spectacular animals, including tigers at Tull Family Tiger Trail, amazing birds at the Frequent Flyers bird show and a cheetah reaching full sprinting speed just feet away from spectators at Shiley’s Cheetah Run.
Summer Safari is a fun-filled seasonal celebration for the entire family. Summer Safari runs through Aug. 13, with extended Safari Park hours — from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
