Cooler weather expected this week
Weather forecasters have been wrong before, but this week they predict cooler temperatures for today and Friday before a slight increase in sunshine for the weekend. A drop in temperatures would bring a reprieve from the above average temperatures Scripps Ranch has been experiencing recently, and in the last half of the summer.
The National Weather Service predicts areas of drizzle before 11 a.m. Thursday; mostly cloudy, with a high near 75 with light west winds increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Patchy drizzle may fall Thursday night after 11 p.m.; mostly cloudy, with a low around 68 and west winds around 5 mph becoming calm later.
On Friday, there might be patchy drizzle before 11 a.m.; mostly cloudy, with a high near 74; and southwest winds around 5 mph.
Saturday and Sunday’s forecasts are identical: cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with highs near 75.
The AccuWeather forecast for Thursday predicts spotty drizzle in the morning, otherwise low clouds breaking for some sun during the day with a high of 75. Nighttime will become cloudy with spotty drizzle late.
The AccuWeather forecast for Friday includes spotty drizzle in the morning, otherwise considerable cloudiness and cool temperatures with a high of 74 degrees. Nighttime will include patchy clouds followed by low clouds.
