Excessive Heat Warning issued
Those looking forward to the three-day Labor Day weekend should also be aware that it will be extremely hot. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7.
This will be the hottest period of the entire year so far, surpassing last week’s hot spell.
Expect dangerously hot weather. Highs in the inland valleys could reach 90 to more than 100 throughout all of Southern California. Beach highs will be from 80 to 90, according to the National Weather Service.
Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
