Father of two deported by ICE

Today, The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, ruled that Gaston Cazares will be deported to Mexico because he is in this country illegally, following a hearing this morning, Sept. 28.

Cazares is the father of two teenagers who attend Scripps Ranch High School, and has been married for 23 years. His wife and children are American citizens, but Cazares reportedly moved to the U.S. illegally at age 16 and did not gain U.S. citizenship.

Cazares was reported to be his family’s source of income, paid taxes in this country and has no criminal record besides his immigration status. The literal enforcement of immigration laws underway, as ordered by President Donald Trump, is the reason for the ruling.
