Library holiday closure dates

The Scripps Miramar Ranch Library will be closed for the Christmas-New Year’s holidays from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1, and will reopen on Friday, Jan. 2. The book drop will be closed at the library during this period; due dates will be extended for books due during that time as well.

Note that all city libraries will be closed on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve); Dec. 25 (Christmas Day); Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve); Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day); Jan.19 (Martin Luther King, Jr., Day)

Closure and parking

The planned closure of the library for replacement of the roof and HVAC system is expected to occur in February 2026, although a specific date and final confirmation have not been provided. The closure is projected to last at least 6 to 8 months. Work on the lower parking lot will reportedly resume concurrently. The parking situation will continue to be challenging.
