Red Flag warning begins Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning Thursday morning to Friday evening in San Diego County and most of Southern California this week.

Expect elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions continuing with this next Santa Ana wind event. Take the necessary precautions to prepare.

It looks like the heat will continue through the end of the week. Make sure to stay hydrated and check up on neighbors and pets.

A stronger offshore flow will develop late tonight and Thursday with northeast winds strengthening and becoming more widespread for the inland valleys, with east to northeast winds continuing Thursday night into Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Elevated fire weather conditions will continue today for the inland valleys into the mountains. The lowest daytime humidity will fall to 5 to 10 percent on Thursday and around 5 percent on Friday with poor overnight recovery, according to the National Weather Service.
