San Diego police arrested a 15-year-old suspect early Monday morning, April 30, for the alleged murder of Pham, who was the suspect’s father.

Law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting on Sunday evening and arrived on the scene at Affinity Court at about 8:40 p.m. Police officers attempted to revive the victim after finding him in a bedroom suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics took over the resuscitation efforts upon their arrival, but were unsuccessful. The victim died at the scene.

The teenage male suspect was apprehended near a gas station Monday around 1 a.m., close to the I-15 overpass on Scripps Poway Parkway. The suspect, who has not been identified, was a student who attended Mira Mesa High School.
