Wolff keeps rockin’
Scripps Ranch rock artist Steve Wolff will perform a combined LiveStream on StreetJelly  for 1.5 hour Saturday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m.: https://www.streetjelly.com/-Wolff

It will be a 50/50 performance of covers and originals mix.

Meanwhile, Wolff has been working on a new music project since the lockdown killed live music. It’s an online audio+video broadcast “station” aimed at

  1. Showcasing talented but undiscovered independent musicians who can’t get exposure or earn anything and
  2. Entertaining music lovers who can’t see local acts perform anywhere as Covid-19 has killed off live entertainment

Called JamTheWire, it will feature multiple musicians’ original music and videos 24/7 as a looping broadcast. Once it goes live, he plans to use crowdfunding and a PR campaign to expand the number of musicians, generate revenue to share with them and a local charity.

White rhino calf turns 1 year old
Southern white rhino Edward turned 1-year old July 28, and a birthday celebration was held in his honor at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center. With San Diego Zoo Global researchers and wildlife care specialists looking on, the little rhino charged into the Rhino Rescue Center outdoor area with his birthday “guests” —his mother Victoria, 8-month-old female calf Future and her mother Amani — following close behind. The area was decorated by wildlife care specialists and Safari Park volunteers, with cardboard cutouts of rhinos, decorative boxes filled with the rhinos’ favorite hay, a big birthday banner and a specially made mud wallow.
