COVID-19 cases soar in Scripps Ranch
Total cases of coronavirus reported in the Scripps Ranch 92131 ZIP Code area this week rose to 187 cases. That’s an increase of 22 cases in the past week in Scripps Ranch – a significant increase for this community compared to other weeks.

The County of San Diego reported 522 total cases recorded in Mira Mesa and 282 total cases in Poway. San Diego County reports the cases, broken down by community residence listed for each patient.

These are the total tabulated cases in each ZIP Code area since the County began tracking cases in March. It does not reflect those who recovered, nor does it account for those who died from COVID-19. The County of San Diego does not provide those statistics at this point.


GoFundMe set up for Han
Han and Nimol of Scripps Salon & Spa (10006 Scripps Ranch Blvd., Suite 201, upstairs near old Vons) are having difficulty during the COVID-19 crisis. They had to shut down for months and need community support. They have not been granted government assisted programs and will owe rent for all the months they were shut down, despite not being allowed to open. They have owned their business for 10 years and done much for this community. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist them: GoFundMe.


Rotary Club plans blood drive
The Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps is sponsoring a blood drive for the San Diego Blood Bank on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vons Shopping Center parking lot10675 Scripps Poway Parkway. Those wishing to donate blood may make an appointment right away at mysdbb.org/schedule or by calling 1-800-4MYSDBB. An appointment and photo ID are required to donate blood. Those donating blood are to arrive hydrated to their appointment.


Wolff performs live concert
Scripps Ranch Rock musician Steve Wolff will perform another StreetJelly “Live from the Lockdown” concert for about an hour starting at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 20. This performance can be replayed for another 24 hours if you want to catch it later.
