Trick or Treat Fest was very popular
A monstrous crowd turned out for the Trick or Treat Festival at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market on Saturday, Oct. 28.
A good portion of the visitors were adorned in their Halloween costumes, as were many of the market’s vendors. Most of the children wore their Halloween finest, and some adults couldn’t resist dressing in costume to join the fun as well.
Besides the weekly selection of produce, merchandise, services, food and drinks that the market offers, there was a face painter, balloon artist, caricature artist, kids art booth and bouncy house. The kids could participate in a special treasure hunt for Halloween toys and collect treats from the vendors.
Blue skies and warm weather met the visitors on this day, but the heat did not deter the crowds from arriving at the market during its entire duration. Many residents walked to the event. Those who drove found the parking lots busy, but spaces were always available as some attendees were leaving while others arrived.
The Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market Trick or Treat Festival can be labeled nothing but a complete and popular success. The weekly market was not only festive, but it is one of the last bastions of unbridled American commerce at its best.
