Padres are playing tenth homestand

The San Diego Padres are playing a long homestand into the weekend as the ball club hosts Philadelphia and Washington. Here is the remainder of this homestand schedule along with the promotional highlights for fans each game:

Padres vs. Phillies, Tuesday, Aug. 15, 7:10 p.m.
Taco Tuesday presented by Cholula Hot Sauce takes place every Tuesday home game and features Petco Park’s favorite local tacos at a special price. For only $2.50, fans can choose from a variety of taco options at Carnitas’ Snack Shack, Wonderland Ocean Pub, Lucha Libre, Miguel’s, Seaside Market, Rimel’s and Brigantine. 

Italian Heritage Night also takes place Tuesday, a special night to recognize the local Italian community. Iris Moné, a representative of the Italian community, will perform the National Anthem prior to Tuesday’s game. Fans can also purchase a special ticket package at www.padres.com/italian, which includes a limited-edition Italian Heritage Night-themed Padres hat.

Padres vs. Phillies, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 12:40 p.m.
Wednesday will feature Way Back Wednesday presented by Budweiser with the Padres wearing their home white, blue and orange pinstripe uniforms worn by the club from 1991 to 2001. In-game music, graphics and other entertainment features will add to the Way Back Wednesday theme. Fans are encouraged to purchase a special theme game ticket package to receive a Way Back Wednesday hat giveaway. Hats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 1,000 fans who purchase tickets from the ticket package available at www.padres.com/wbw.

Former Padres shortstop Chris Gomez will throw the ceremonial first pitch prior to Wednesday’s game.

The second Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Wednesday. A special ticket package is available with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket. Children will have access to inflatables and face painters at Park at the Park prior to Wednesday’s game. Following Wednesday’s game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza. Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online at www.padres.com/friarfamily.   

Following the Padres’ afternoon game against the Phillies, the Padres in conjunction with the Padres Foundation are hosting their Padres BaseBOWL event. Fans will have the opportunity to bowl alongside current Padres, coaches and Padres alumni with all funds raised benefiting the Padres Foundation. Padres vs. Nationals, Thursday, Aug. 17, 7:10 p.m.
The sixth College Night of 2017 will take place Thursday. A DJ will be spinning at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 5 p.m. to the conclusion of the game. College students will receive a special ticket discount with a valid student ID (advance price of $10 in a Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section; prices increase day-of-game).

Mira Mesa High School will perform the National Anthem prior to Thursday’s game.

Padres vs. Nationals, Friday, Aug. 18, 7:10 p.m.
Party in the Park presented by Southwest Airlines will take place Friday. The party begins at 4:30 p.m. with live entertainment and drink specials available for purchase for $5.

Friday is San Diego State University Night. Fans can enjoy a night of school spirit with cheer and dance performances pregame at Park at the Park. Members from the SDSU baseball team will greet fans and sign autographs at Park at the Park prior to Friday’s game. Enjoy a pregame ceremony and SDSU-themed entertainment throughout the night. SDSU Athletic Director J.D. Wicker and Head Coach Mark Martinez of the SDSU baseball team will throw the honorary first pitch prior to Friday’s game. A limited number of ticket packages are available which include discounted tickets and a commemorative SDSU-themed Padres hat. Tickets are available at www.padres.com/sdsu.

The Hedges Saxy Section makes its debut on Friday. On select nights, fans can cheer on Padres catcher Austin Hedges from his home-run-landing area in left field. Fans who purchase the Hedges Saxy Section tickets will receive an inflatable saxophone and themed sunglasses. Due to player scheduling, there is a chance Austin Hedges does not play on the designated Hedges Saxy Section dates. A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The annual Padres Foundation Mystery Ball Fundraiser begins on Friday and will continue through Saturday or while supplies last. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a “Mystery Box” containing an autographed baseball signed by a Padres player, MLB star or Hall of Famer for a $40 donation to the Padres Foundation and their efforts to benefit youth baseball and softball programs. Mystery Boxes will be available in multiple locations throughout the ballpark including the alcove in Section 101, the third floor of the Western Metal Building in front of the Padres All-Time Statistics Murals and the Park at the Park near the wiffle ball field.

Catholic Night is also Friday, a fun night of fellowship with activities taking place around Petco Park. Representatives from the Catholic community will take part in the pregame ceremonies, including performing the National Anthem prior to Friday’s game. Fans can purchase a special ticket package which includes a Catholic Night T-shirt. Tickets are available at www.padres.com/catholicnight.

Padres vs. Nationals, Saturday, Aug. 19, 5:40 p.m.
As part of Baseball Night in San Diego, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive Jack McKeon “Trader Jack” Trading Cards presented by Sony. Former Padres manager and general manager Jack McKeon will be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame during the pregame ceremony on Saturday. He will be honored for his 11 seasons as general manager of the Padres, including parts of three seasons he spent in the dual role of GM and manager, as he helped lead to the club’s 1984 National League title. McKeon and members of his family will be in attendance as he becomes the 14th person to be enshrined in the Padres Hall of Fame. 

The Mystery Ball Fundraiser continues on Saturday pending available inventory. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase an autographed baseball for a $40 donation to the Padres Foundation. Mystery Boxes will be available in multiple locations throughout the ballpark including the alcove in Section 101, the third floor of the Western Metal Building in front of the Padres All-Time Statistics Murals and the Park at the Park near the wiffle ball field.

Saturday is also Filipino Heritage Night, a special night to recognize the local Filipino community. There will be pregame entertainment from 3 to 5 p.m. at Park at the Park. A special pregame ceremony will recognize the local Filipino community. Fans can purchase a ticket package, which includes discounted tickets and a raincheck voucher to receive a commemorative hat at a later date. A portion of each ticket sold through this offer will go toward supporting The House of the Philippines. Tickets are available at www.padres.com/filipino.

Padres vs. Nationals, Sunday, Aug. 20, 1:40 p.m.
Sunday will serve as a Military Salute: Salute to the Military Family presented by USAA. A United States Marine Corps family, the Butlers, will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell. Bobby Woods, USO San Diego Airport Center director, will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Four Padres Foundation military scholarship recipients will be recognized and presented a check during the homeplate ceremony by Randy Jones, Trevor Hoffman, Maggie Coleman and Alicia Gwynn. Marine Band San Diego of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego will perform the National Anthem prior to Sunday’s game. USMC spouse Katrina Pesek will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning break. Nine military kids from Camp Pendleton will take the field to greet Padres starters at each position as part of “Military Take the Field.” 

KidsFest, Compadres Kids Sunday Signings and Kids Run the Bases activities will all be on Sunday. KidsFest features bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities at Park at the Park beginning at 11 a.m. 

From noon to 12:30 p.m., two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Compadres Kids Sunday Signings. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event. Following Sunday’s game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Sun Diego Beach on K Street. Compadres Kids members will receive front-of-the-line privileges by lining up at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza.

The third Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Sunday. A special ticket package is available with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket. There will be inflatables and face painters for the kids at Park at the Park prior to Sunday’s game. Following Sunday’s game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza. Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online at www.padres.com/friarfamily.   

Sunday is also Jewish Community Day, a special day to celebrate Jewish culture and community at Petco Park. There will be pregame Jewish-themed entertainment at Park at the Park. Fans can purchase a special ticket package at www.padres.com/jewish, which includes discounted tickets and a voucher for a Kosher hot dog and soda from The Place in Park at the Park.

Nearly 1,000 scouts and youth leaders will participate in an All Scout Parade on the warning track prior to Sunday’s game.
