The Scripps Ranch Unleashed in the Scripps Ranch Marketplace, 10625 Scripps Poway Parkway, was doggie central on Saturday, Oct. 14.

For one thing, Unleashed hosted adoptable canines from It’s the Pits Dog Rescue. Volunteers brought in a handful of friendly pit bulls that were available for adoption. For more information, visit itsthepits.rescuegroups.org.

Then, a Pet Costume Contest was held in the afternoon. The winner was Sprout, a fluffy black beauty dressed as a butterfly. Sprout was accompanied by its owners, Sarah Fleming and Angie Phan, also adorned in butterfly costumes.

Meanwhile, an abundance of pet owners brought in their doggies to shop at the store. In addition, Unleashed held its weekly Free Puppy Playtime, a special socialization hour for young canines. This also attracted attentive owners along with a variety of playful pups.
